Has someone seen the last ten months go past?

Good lord, it's November! When did that happen?
Does anyone else get that feeling that the year has crept past them while they weren't looking? I sure do, especially as everyone seems to enjoy saying "xx days until Christmas". Then again, I find myself saying "where did the year go?" every year, so I shouldn't be surprised, but still, one minute I'm basking in the beautiful summer sun and the next, it's that time of year when the fireworks sold for the 5th November are set off. Over a two week period, for no particular reason. at 2am every morning.
Having said that, I managed to mis-judge a classic piece of time management the other day. I started an important project for work when I got home, expecting it to finish at around 11:30. However, because I didn't sit down and work out exactly what work was needed to complete the project, I finished at around 6:20am. This left me enough time to get some food, shower and head back out again to work. Oops, can't all be perfect, eh?
Why am I constantly badgering you lovely people to plan ahead? Why should I care if you leave Christmas shopping to 8:45 on the 24th December, and are left with nothing but hope that Aunt Mabel will love her new bag of grilling charcoal and a bunch of petrol station flowers combo? Because if you don't plan ahead, then you miss all the fun little details, which means someone else misses out. If Ultimedia Towers didn't make sure that everything officey was all up to date, then the little touches will be missed. Little touches such as wishing people we deal with a merry Christmas, or making sure that a sudden rush doesn't wreck some one's holiday plans. It's the little details that can really make you stick out. If Tesco's sent you a Christmas discount coupon and some warm wishes, and Sainsbury's sent you diddly squat, who will you think more fondly of? Exactly!
So get those plans in order now. You'll feel so much better when they're done so you can enjoy Winter. And, let's be honest, you'd rather spend Christmas going "Ahhhh" rather than "AAAAAHHHHH!".
